Thus, the election result is also out. A new political party is going to take the power. Even after the declaration for election result, the police could not catch the murder of Jisha, a law student in Perumbavoor. There was a strong belief among the media that the police will declare the arrest of the murder before the assembly election. But, even after the election result, the police is searching in the darkness. So, that means, the police does not have any clue regarding the murderer of Jisha. So, it seems, Jisha’s murder case will also end like another untraceable murder case.

Similar to the gruesome rape and murder of Delhi’s Nirbhaya, a law student was brutally raped and killed in Iringole in Perumbavoor of Ernakulam district in Kerala, about 45 kilometers away from Kochi. This crime of unimaginable horror was committed on the evening of April 28 at the victim’s house.

The body of Jisha (29) was found in a horrific condition inside her one-room house at the Canal Bund in Iringole. She was the younger daughter of Kurupampaddy Vattolippady Kuttikkattil Veettil Rajeswari. The murder of this Dalit woman is a chilling reminder of the horrific death of Nirbhaya gang rape case in Delhi in 2012.

The victim was found in a pool of blood and there were at least 30 stab wounds, her intestines were pulled out, and there were injuries in her head. According to the police, a sharp weapon was inserted inside her genitals. She was also believed to have been brutally kicked in her stomach. According to the post mortem report, Jisha was brutally raped and assaulted before death, but the Kerala police is yet to confirm sexual violence. Jisha’s mother Rajeswari discovered her daughter in a gruesome state when she came back from work at about 8.00 pm on April 28.

In their house at Iringole, Jisha and her mother were staying alone. Just like the brutal incident of Jyoti (Nirbhaya), the 23- year-old medical student who was gang raped in a moving bus in Delhi in 2012, a sharp weapon had been used for assaulting Jisha as her intestines had come out. Both sides of the chest had been pierced by two inches using some sharp weapon, the autopsy report said. Her genitals had been struck with some weapon like an iron rod. Her internal organs had been severely damaged. The nose of the victim had been struck with a weapon like hammer.

According to the post mortem report, the cause of death could have been the severe wounds inflicted in her head. Sources in the police said that there were marks of wounds inflicted with a sharp weapon in the back of her head, chin, and neck. When her mother found her in that fateful night, the body was covered only by a Kurtah.

At the time of the incident, Jisha was alone in her house. A police official said, “Around 1.00 pm that day, some of the neighbors had seen her. So, the incident should have taken place after 1.00 pm. The crime had been committed in broad daylight, but the neighbors have not heard any sound.”

The police is certain that the murder had taken place amidst rape attempt. There could have been more than one person involved in this crime. The police further said that the rape and murder could have been committed after choking the victim with a shawl from behind. To ensure the death of Jisha, the murderers smothered and strangled her using her own clothing till her last breath.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
